Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has rewarded digital creators who participated in the Baba Eta challenge, highlighting the growing connection between entertainment personalities and social media audiences.
According to a report published by Independent Newspaper Nigeria on October 10, Coker Oluwarantimi emerged as the overall winner, receiving a ₦1 million cash prize. Ajewole Ayomide and eight other participants reportedly received ₦200,000 each.
The prizes were presented at the DusDus office in Lagos, where Adedimeji met with the winning creators and celebrated their participation.
Social media challenges create new opportunities
The challenge illustrates how entertainers and digital platforms can encourage audiences to participate in campaigns rather than simply watch or share content.
For Nigerian creators, competitions can provide opportunities to showcase creativity, gain exposure and potentially earn financial rewards. However, participation in any challenge does not guarantee income or popularity.
As social media continues to influence entertainment, collaborations between celebrities, digital platforms and creators are becoming an important subject in Nigeria's entertainment industry.
