NEWS: Fire Razes Kakuri Market In Kaduna South


No less than 50 shops and stalls were gutted by early morning inferno at the Kakuri Market in Kaduna South on Saturday morning.

Kaduna News Online reports that garri, rice, canned drinks , ekporo ,oil palms and many other foodstuffs worth of millions of naira were completely burnt to ashes as traders were still in their beds when the inferno started.

Emeka Chidiebere , a shop owner said he was woken up by a friend at about 3.am in the morning and told that his shop was on fire ,but on getting to the market ,he discovered that his shop was untouched but said many other shops were sadly burnt .

Mallam Ali ,a wholesaler also lamented that his three shops containing soft drinks , detergents , and canned paste were completely razed .

Though, Kaduna News Online could not verify the cause of the fire outbreak , but the market had in the past suffered fire outbreaks .
