The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has mandated all the workers in the 774 local governments across the country to embark on a nationwide strike from Thursday, September 27.

This is following the directive issued to all its affiliate unions by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to embark on a nationwide 7-day warning strike over the Federal Government’s deliberate failure to conclude negotiation for the new minimum wage.

NULGE in a circular entitled: “Notice of a 7-day warning strike,” sent to all states chairmen and their secretaries, directed all its members to fully participate in the strike from midnight on Wednesday.
